Arame seaweed is gathered near Asian coast of the Pacific Ocean: from the Sea of Okhotsk to the coast of Korea. The Japanese value Arame for its mild sweetish taste and high content of calcium, iron and iodine. Dried Arame is usually fried or sauted with sweet vegetables and is often used as a garnish when placed round a dish.
